MEET DR. RAJ SHANI
Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Raj Shani specializes in sports medicine with a focus on shoulder, knee, and ankle surgery as well as general orthopedics. He treats patients from 6 years of age and older. Dr. Shani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He also practices orthopedic sports medicine at the Memorial Hermann Ironman Sports Medicine Institute. His experience as an orthopedic surgeon ranges from high school sports injuries all the way to collegiate and professional athletes.
A native Houstonian, Dr. Raj Shani received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston where he was nominated for the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then completed his orthopedic residency at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. This was followed by his sports medicine fellowship, focusing on surgery of the knee, shoulder and ankle, at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.
